It’s so easy to fall into a negative rut and allow bad energy to just seep in.
Especially when things don’t work out the way you expected, people aren’t who you thought they were (expectations) and/or the ball just doesn’t seem to be rolling your way.
This is an absolute human way to feel, but we humans don’t realize when we stir the pot of negativity that we only thicken the stew.

Check your expectations
This is where you should start with any downward spiral. Ask yourself “am I feeling this way because it didn’t meet my expectations?”
Again this can be expectations of an outcome, of someones behavior or how it would make you feel. Basically all the things within the picture you painted in your mind before it took place.
You can not under any circumstances expect for anything to be exactly as you want. We can only be grateful if or when it happens.
Pre-devising reality before reality happens only leads to heartache.
Check your expectations then restructure them in your mind. Don’t put so much pressure on situations, other people or yourself.
Connect with your why
If you’re in a situation right now where you’re feeling really defeated think about your expectations when you started. Is there anything you can re-wire within your perspective to make these burdens feel less heavy?
After that reflection find your foundation, your why.
This step is for someone already in the sh*t but also to prevent anyone from getting there.
Connect with the reason why you are doing what you’re doing. Defining your reason in any situation in life will re-align you with why you are giving this thing energy – and help you realize if you should stop.
Once you have your why, shift your focus there and when dread starts kicking in, remind yourself of the big picture.
Remind yourself that everything is just a stepping stone from the present moment to the next so embrace it while moving toward your why.
Focus on that, be ready for that, get excited for that. And let the outcome play the cards that fate deals.
You can only control the energy you put into things, the rest is out of your hands. And keeping a positive outlook while practicing this is key.
Allow your frequency to resonate with higher frequencies to draw positive outcomes into your life with the Law of Attraction.
If you’ve been following this blog for a while you’ll know that self love is my favorite thing to talk about.
This falls right in line with that.
When you are feeling like you’re in a downward spiral and nothing is going your way this is when you absolutely need to get back to the basics and put the focus on you, your soul and your well being.
You can’t pour from an empty cup. Though all of us try.
What are the things that make you feel full? Is it quiet time, is it a cup of tea/coffee in the morning? Is it turning off screens at a certain time?
Whatever it is, implement one or all the things in your life. You deserve it.
And this is the cue for the busy folks out there to say “I DON’T HAVE TIME!” and to that I say “then you must be really content with where you are right now.”
All you need is for your desire of being balanced to be larger than your desire to feel like crap, burnt out and/or overworked.
So I’m prompted to ask you. What do you desire most?
If it’s something you prioritize it should not be hard to fit into your day; plus prioritizing self love is probably the most adult thing to do.
Give yourself a dedicated 15 minutes of you-time. Whatever that looks like for you.
And eventually you’ll find a self-love block that’s grown in size waiting for you to enjoy every single day.
Always reflect, sit back and think for a moment. What are things in and out of your power making you feel depleted?
What are things in and out of your power that make you feel amazing?
What are some activities that you’re invested in that aren’t serving your highest self?
What are some practices you can add to your life to make your quality of life better?
Really think about the things within your power that you can mold your life with. Most times you’ll find that all the tools you need are already within your mind and heart, you just have to open up and find them.
